TAUGHT BY MAGGIE CASEY

Woolen or Worsted, How Do You Decide?

Friday, April 17th – Half Day Class
2pm-5pm

There are the rules: Long fibers—short draw, short fibers—long draw.  But sometimes rules are meant to be broken.  The best way to decide how to spin for a project is to spin a little fiber and make a swatch or a sample.  In this class we will spin fibers with different drafting techniques and you will have enough yarn to make a sample.   We will look at other factors as well, so you can design a great yarn for your project.

Materials fee: $20 – includes fiber and handouts

Level: Beginner and above

STUDENTS SHOULD BRING

  • Spinning wheel with all its parts
  • Lazy Kate with at least 4 bobbins.
  • Usual spinning tools.
  • Hand cards if you have them.
