Half day class, offered 3 times (because we want everyone to be able to take this important class)
Thursday, April 21st – 2-5pm
Friday, April 22nd – 9-noon
Friday, April 22nd – 2-5pm
This class is for all sheep lovers. It’s about sheep and the fiber they give us (and hopefully will keep giving us for many many years). We’ll be focusing on heritage and rare breeds. It’s hands-on so we’ll compare, contrast, prep, and spin the fleece of 3-5 heritage or rare breeds — learning both the history and translating that into applications and usefulness for today’s spinner. If you’re curious about life outside of Merino top, this class is for you! If you love sheep, this class is for you! If you’re a spinner, this class is for you!
This class will expose you to several different types of rare breeds, from critically endangered American sheep to primitive sheep brought to this country centuries ago, we’ll trek through them and maybe even find a new favorite! This is a companion class to the Ply Magazine series “Sheep on the Edge” as well!
Material fee: $25
