TAUGHT BY Michelle Kaston

It's not me, it's you

Half day class, offered twice

Friday, April 21st,  9am-noon

Friday, April 21st,  2pm-5pm

Do you feel like you’ve outgrown some of the colors in your yarn stash? Don’t worry, it’s not you, it’s them and you can overdye them!
We will cover basic color theory, how layering colors affects the outcome and how saturation influences why some yarns/fibers might not change as much as expected. You will over-dye your own yarn and/or fiber and will leave class inspired to look at your stash in a whole new way.  Please be sure you wear clothing that can get a bit of dye on it in case a splash or spill happens.

Materials fee: $20

Class Level: any

STUDENTS SHOULD BRING

  • 3-4 items (about 10-15 oz total) to overdye. These may be skeins of yarn or roving but ALL items should have already been dyed at an earlier time. Items MUST primarily be wool or other animal fiber (silk, mohair, alpaca, angora, etc). All yarn should be skeined.
  • Tapestry needle (if dyeing roving)
