Get Warped! Dressing a Rigid Heddle Loom

Half day, offered twice:

Thursday April 20th – AM half day 9-noon
Saturday April 22nd, AM half day 9-noon

Is your mind warped from all the spinning classes? Want to do something different? Well, this class will warp your mind in a whole new way!

In this class you will learn how to dress a rigid heddle loom using the direct warping method. This method of dressing your loom is fast and easy to do completely on your own. All you need is your loom, a warping peg, and a sley hook.

Together we will:

  • Measure a warp
  • Beam the Warp
  • Sley the Reed
  • Lash on to the front apron rod

Weave a header with scrap yarn

Materials Fee:  $60 for warp yarn, scrap yarn, warp separator, and Weaving Made Easy Book by Liz Gibson.

Level: beginner, no weaving or spinning experience needed

Please let us know if you’d like to bring your own RH loom.

STUDENTS SHOULD BRING

  • Nothing needed but please let us know if you would like to bring your own rigid heddle loom.
