Charkha Power!

Saturday, April 18th – AM Half Day

This powerful little tool is an often overlooked for spinning short exotic fibres such as qiviut, bison, yak and even silk!   In this hands-on seminar participants will learn to prepare fibres for spinning and to spin off the point using down fibres, as well as silk.

Materials fee: $30 – for class handout, a variety of down fibres such as bison, yak, as well as silk.

Skill Level: Beginner & Above

STUDENTS SHOULD BRING

  • charkha, extra bobbins, and hand cards.  (The instructor will also bring charkhas to share).
  • Equipment should be in good working order, and students must know how to make a continuous thread.
