Half Day Class (taught twice)
Thursday, April 11th – 9am-12pm
Thursday, April 11th – 2pm-5pm
We all like big batts, but is that really all a drum carder is good for? Of course not! In this class, we will roll rolags and remove carded sliver (roving) from a drum carder. Students will discover which tools to use – and more importantly the techniques behind – using a drum carder for preparing fiber in a manner other than a batt. All materials, carders, and tools will be provided by the instructors.
Materials Fee: $20 – covers use of a carder, all fiber carded during class, and batt lifter refills for storing carded batts.
Level: Some drum carding experience preferred. Ideally (but not required) student has taken Exploring the Drum Carder or Adventures in drum carding previously.
