Maggie Cease has been fascinated by mindfulness meditation for years. When she learned to spin, the two seemed to naturally go hand-in-hand. She loves to think of spinning as a form of mindfulness, allowing her to be fully in the moment as she focuses on the texture and color of the fiber, the way it drafts inch by inch, and how, little by little, it turns into yarn right before her eyes.
Maggie has studied, practiced, and taught mindfulness at places like The University of Michigan, where she conducted research on the effects of mindfulness meditation on long-term memory. She has also studied meditation in Dharamsala, India, where she was fortunate to learn from many spiritual leaders, including the Dalai Lama.
