Thursday, April 11th – Half Day Class
One of the joys of working with spindles, is that we can switch from project to project based on what we feel like spinning at any given time, but how do we keep our yarn on target within projects? In this class we’ll explore all of the aspects of planning and spinning a project on a spindle, from a hat, to socks to a sweater.
We’ll cover the practical parts of a project, planning the yarn for your project, record keeping, spinning a consistent yarn on a spindle, cop winding, storing singles, and plying. We’ll also talk about how to keep up your spinning momentum and excitement going through a project, how to get the most out of your spindle, and troubleshooting tips.
Materials fee: $5
Level: Students should be comfortable spinning with a spindle.
