April 28, Friday – PM Half Day Class, and April 29, Saturday PM Half Day Class
There are two things I love about sheep – their wool and their cheese! Come explore both in this spinning and snacking class. We’ll sample five different commercially prepared fibers and fiber blends that are classified as fine – think Merino, Cormo, Targhee – but there will be surprises too. We’ll talk spinning how-tos with fine fiber, how to spin them fine and how to spin them fat. How to spin them to reduce the dreaded pilling of fine fibers and of course, discuss beautiful things to make with them. I did mention sheep cheese right? In between spinning we will nibble several sheep cheeses from a local farm. You’ll learn about how sheep and cow milk cheese differ and what makes sheep cheese special. I think you will be happily surprised by the variety in flavor and texture of sheep cheeses and their tasty accompaniments.
