April 27, Thursday – AM Half Day Class
You’ve probably seen a gorgeous lock spun yarn lately, they’re all the rage! This class will teach you to spin your very own using the “Magic Thumb” technique. Learn how to prepare clean curly fleece (such as Teeswater, Wensleydale, Mohair, or any intact locks) for spinning. Then learn the “Magic Thumb” technique for lockspinning a yarn without using a core yarn. This method results in a beautiful, dependable yarn which enhances the curl and natural structure of the lock. There will be ample time to spin the yarn, with lots of enthusiastic hands-on individual assistance. We’ll also discuss finishing the yarn (washing, setting twist, drying). You’ll walk out with your horizons broadened, a new gorgeous yarn, and a new trick up your sleeve!
