Join Iceland resident Maja in this fascinating class! You will use raw Icelandic fiber, carded fiber, and fleece, to spin Icelandic, lopi-style singles. During the process she’ll discuss the importance of staple length and minimum twist. You’ll look closely at Icelandic fiber, the thel and the tog, and the 3 possibilities this offers your spinning. Maja will give some background information on the reality of sheep farming in Iceland, its wool industry and commercial yarns, and the characteristics of Icelandic wool.
